A drink of coffee or a cup of rum
Conversation took leave long ago
Now it is just questions, disoriented and dumb.
He asked me on our table
What will I prefer for the road
A drink of coffee or a cup of rum?
The roads parted their ways
With no door left ajar
No longer travels went
For A drink of coffee or a cup of rum.
The road went their ways
Through stiff curves and bents,
We never looked back.
The rules of the roads were firm.
The roads that took our lives,
Made us follow as fools,
Took our breath as rent-
Gave us earth and earthlies
To which we refer to as ‘some’.
